Four temperaments walk into a meeting

The agenda says “quick sync”. The choleric hears “decisions by 10:15”. The sanguine hears “an audience”. The phlegmatic hears “please let it actually be quick”. The melancholic read the pre-read twice and arrived with three concerns — all of them valid.

None of these people are difficult. They're running different operating systems on the same calendar invite, and most team friction is just temperaments colliding without a translator.

What about you?

Free, about four minutes — see your own result.

Take the test

Knowing your own temperament is useful; knowing your teammates' is a superpower. The choleric learns to leave space before deciding. The sanguine learns the quiet ones already had the idea. The phlegmatic learns their calm reads as agreement. The melancholic learns “good enough to ship” is a real quality bar.

Next meeting, watch the room instead of the slides for five minutes. You'll spot all four systems immediately — and you'll never unsee them.

Disagreements about pace are usually temperament, not commitment
